Dream WOWZA

The dreamworld is a mysterious, perplexing, and illuminating place! It is full of awesome, curious, fascinating, and even frightening images. As we move into relationship with the images of dream, we often find a sense of deep resource or shift in perspective that helps us meet life from a place of greater vitality and aliveness.

Carl Jung, the founder of analytical psychology, described dreams as

…a little hidden door in the innermost and most secret recesses of the soul, opening into that cosmic night which was Psyche long before there was any ego-consciousness, and which will remain Psyche no matter how far our ego-consciousness extends.

Jung helps us understand that the dreamworld connects us to the deepest core of our humanity, a sense of collective wisdom and a wisdom that encompasses the world. Dreams reflect a perspective that is often different from our conscious attitude, allowing us to see ourselves with greater depth. Jung muses that in each of us is another whom we do not know. He speaks to us in dreams and tells us how differently he sees us from the way we see ourselves. In that sense, the Dream can be understood as an honest and wise friend.
